Nico Facuri

Co-Founder, Marketing and Strategy Director of Knowlodge Digital Publishing 

Nico Facuri is an engineer and entrepreneur. He participated at d·HEALTH 2017 doing his clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann. He is Co-Founder and Marketing and Strategy Director of Knowlodge Digital Publishing, a successful digital publishing company in São Paulo, Brazil.

Eduard Guerrero

Co-Founder & CPO of Happy Injections

Eduard Guerrero studied Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona and at the University of Texas and held different research positions before joining d·HEALTH. After his clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in 2017, he co-founded Happy Injections, which develops a new standard for pediatric blood extraction and vaccination.

Sara Hernández Ortega

Sara Hernández holds a PhD on Molecular Biology and has been working as a researcher. She was a d·Health Barcelona fellow in 2017 and did her clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann.

Bas Kuilboer

Bas Kuilboer studied Economy and Business Administration at different German universities and worked in the marketing and sales field before joining d·HEALTH in 2017. He did his clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic and is currently applying for different traineeships in multinational medtech companies.

Marc Rafat

Co-Founder of Happy Injections and HealthQuay

Trained as a mechanical engineer and with a Master in Business Innovation, Marc founded his own company after been a fellow of d·HEALTH program in 2017. He did his clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. After the program he participated at the MIT Bootcamp for global innovation and entrepreneurship 2018. He is currently running two projects: Happy Injections, which develops a new standard for pediatric blood extraction and vaccination; and HealthQuay, an international initiative from MIT with the aim to improve survival rates for cancer patients. Also, he is a lecturer at IQS Executive Education, and a part time consulting at Actio Global Consulting. 

Laura Belenguer

Head of IT Medical Devices at Hôpital du Valais

Laura Belenguer is a telecommunications engineer specialized in medical imaging. After some years working in this field, she joined d·HEALTH Barcelona in 2016 and did her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. She is currently working as a Head of IT Medical Devices at Hôpital du Valais (Switzerland).

Alba De los Santos

Junior Biomedical Engineer at NEOS Surgery

Trained as a biomedical engineer, Alba De los Santos joined d·HEALTH in 2016 and did her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. After the program she joined NEOS Surgery, a technology-based company dedicated to the creation of medical devices for neurosurgery, as a junior biomedical engineer focused on Project Management and R&D.

Judith Juan

Trained as a biomedical engineer, Judith Juan joined d·HEALTH in 2016, doing her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. After the program she joined NeoStart, an entrepreneurship program leaded by the pharma company Chiesi.

Vanesa Nogales

Deputy Manager to Scientific Direction at CIBERONC

Vanesa Nogales holds a PhD in Biomedicine and worked as a research trainee before joining d·HEALTH in 2016. She did her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic and she is currently working as Deputy Manager to Scientific Direction at CIBERONC, a research consortium focused on oncology.

Xenia Villalobos

Academic Officer at IRB Barcelona

Xenia Villalobos holds a PhD in Biomedicine. She joined d·EALTH in 2016 and did her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. After completing the program, she joined the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB Barcelona) as an Academic Officer. She is also the Local Coordinator of Pint of Science Barcelona.

Àlex Casadevall

Sales Engineer at Grupo Pulso

Trained as a telecommunications engineer, Àlex Casadevall held different engineering and research positions before joining d·HEALTH 2014-2015. As a result of his clinical immersion at the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu he was working on his own project aimed to develop a medical device which measures the fetus comfort. He is currently working as a Sales Engineer at Grupo Pulso.

Hanna Martus

Freelance Designer

Hanna Martus studied Media Design and Design Thinking before joining d·HEALTH 2014-2015. As a result of her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic she and her team were working on a medical device for fecal incontinence and she was part of the start-up Myqup-medical before she moved to Berlin. Hanna is currently working there as a designer and she collaborates in healthcare related innovation projects, with a special focus on healthcare experience of chronic patients and mental health patients.

Anna Echegaray

Co-founder of My-qup, product designer at BÜRG&ECH and digital health designer at DKV

Anna Echegaray studied Telecommunications Engineering and Product Design before joining d·HEALTH Barcelona 2014-2015. As a result of her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic she co-founded My-qup, which develops a device for fecal incontinency. She currently combines this project with her positions as a product designer at BÜRG&ECH and as a digital health designer at DKV.

Elena Medina

Elena Medina studied Chemistry and hold some information systems (IS) management positions in several international companies before joining Sanofi in 2011. She participated in d·HEALTH 2014-2015 and she is currently the IS manager at Sanofi Iberia.

Roger Benet

Roger Benet studied Engineering and Industrial Design before joining d·HEALTH 2013-2014 and developing his clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. After being involved in some entrepreneurship programs and designer positions, he is currently studying Medicine in Costa Rica.

Àngel Calzada

Àngel Calzada holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering and he joined d·HEALTH in 2013-2014. As a result of his clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann, Àngel and his team founded usMIMA, a start-up that has developed MowoOT, a medical device which is non-pharmacological, non-invasive, without side-effects for chronic constipation. Àngel is the CTO and CFO of the company.

Lalis Fontcuberta

Lean Management Consultant 

Lalis Fontcuberta Studied Business, International Trade and Research and Market Techniques. She was working at Sanofi when she joined d·HEALTH 2013-2014, developing her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. After some years in the pharmaceutical industry, she is currently working as an independent consultant specialized in Lean management and Patient Experience.

Mateu Pla

R&D Scientist at Fuelium

Mateu Pla holds a PhD in Biochemistry and held some research positions before joining d·HEALTH 2013-2014. He did his clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. He has developed most of his professional career at Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC), giving support to research groups and companies in microfluids, microfabrication and 3D Bioprinting technologies and managing a microfabrication facility. He is currently working as a R&D Scientist at Fuelium, an spinoff which develops paper based batteries for single-use electronic devices.

Trained as an industrial engineer, Alfred Ramírez joined d·HEALTH 2013-2014 and completed his clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. He is currently working as a Validation Consultant at CSV Experts.

Markus Wilhelms

Co-Founder of usMIMA

Markus Wilhelms holds a PhD in Microbiology and Biotechnology and joined d·HEALTH 2013-2014 after completing his postdoc research. As a result of his clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann, Markus and his team founded usMIMA, a start-up that has developed MowoOT, a medical device which is a non-pharmacological, non-invasive, without side-effects solution for chronic constipation. Markus is the CEO of the company.

Mireia Aleu is an industrial design engineer and did her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu in 2017. She is currently working at Ayming, an international business performance consulting group.

Maria Fernández

Maria Fernández studied Biomedical Sciences and held different positions in research centers and pharma industry before joining d·HEALTH.  She did her clinical immersion at Sant Joan de Déu in 2017 and she is currently working as an analyst at Inveniam Group, a company focused on technology-based deals in life sciences and resource sustainability. 

Vanessa Gurie

Co-Founder & CEO of I-Ophthalmology

With a scientific background and an MBA, Vanessa Gurie joined d·HEALTH after 10 years leading the global Performance Medicine Touring Division for the Cirque du Soleil in 48 countries. After her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic in 2017, Vanessa founded I-Ophthalmology, which uses digital health technology to connect remote patients with ophthalmologists. She has also been accepted to participate in the MIT Global Sustainability and Entrepreneurship Bootcamp in Brisbane and pre selected for the EIT Health Wild Card initiative.

Enrique Hernández

Founder of Loop Dx

Enrique Hernández holds a PhD in Biochemistry and joined d·HEALTH in 2017 after some research traineeships. He did his clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann and is currently running his own project, Loop Dx, a diagnostic device to identify blood infection faster in sepsis suspected patients in order to reduce their mortality.


Francisca Marzullo

Innovation Consultant at Fuelfor

Francisca Marzullo is an industrial engineer and she held some management positions before joining d·HEALTH Barcelona in 2017. She did her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic and after the program she joined Fuelfor, a design consultancy specialized in healthcare, where she serves as an innovation consultant.

 

Eduard Soler

Founder of Glaucometrics

Eduard Soler studied Pharmacy before joining d·HEALTH in 2016. After his clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic, he currently combines a part-time job as a pharmacist with his own entrepreneurial project: Glaucometrics, a training system to get ready glaucoma patients before Perimetry test.

Andres Ciudad

Founder of Smplest drug testing and Nutribrain

Andres Ciudad joined d·HEALTH in 2016 after completing his PhD in Pharmacology, and completed his clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann. After the program, he worked at CapitalCell as a project manager and currently he is running some own projects. He has founded Smplest, which offers a simple drug testing that helps to quickly determine which drug has been purchased before using, thus preventing harm to all users, and he is also the co-founder of Nutribrain, focused on nootropic food supplements for the general public.

Valentina Isetta

Valentina Isetta, trained as biomedical engineer and holding a PhD in Biomedicine, worked as a R&D project manager before joining d·HEALTH in 2016. After her clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann, she is currently the Moebio Senior Project Manager at Biocat.

Maria Eugenia Martin

CEO and Co-Founder of ColorSensing

Trained as an engineer, Maria Eugenia Martín participated in d·HEALTH 2016, doing her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic. After the program, she has been working on business development and innovation at University of Barcelona and currently she is CEO and Co-Founder of ColorSensing, which  helps food manufacturers and retailers to cut down food waste and add quality to their products thanks to a low-cost and quantitative food freshness indicator.

Clàudia Pardo

Clàudia Pardo studied international Business and Marketing before joining d·HEALTH in 2016 and doing her clinical immersion at Institut Guttmann. After the program, she found a job as an Open Innovation Consultant at Induct ES and she also serves as an associate professor of Innovation & Entrepreneurship at ESCI-Upf.

Maria Isabel Castellanos

Post-doctorate researcher at Deutsche Herzzentrum München 

Maria Isabel Castellanos is an engineer specialized in product design and new materials. She hold different researcher positions before joining d·HEALTH 2014-2015. As a result of her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu she was working on her own project: Meelk, aimed to develop a medical device to quantify the amount of milk that the mother provides to the child. After the program, she worked as a Junior Innovation Consultant at Beet&Butterfly and later moved to Germany to start her postdoc at the Cardiology diseases department of the Deutsche Herzzentrum München.

Marina Rincon

Marina Rincón studied Physical Therapy before joining d·HEALTH 2014-2015 and doing her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. After the program, Marina has participated in different worldwide healthcare projects and she is currently working for Mayo Clinic as a business developer in the international markets. She is also an entrepreneur keen to innovate in the healthcare sector collaborating with MJN Neuroserveis developing the international science relations and the market strategy of the company and founder of weallare.CO, a first stage startup where design and rehabilitation merged. 

Laura Lagares

Co-founder of My-qup and researcher at Mútua Terrassa 

Laura Lagares holds a PhD in Biomedicine. She joined d·HEALTH Barcelona 2014-2015 and, as a result of her clinical immersion at Hospital Clínic she co-founded My-qup, which develops a device for fecal incontinency. She currently combines this project with a position as a Researcher at the Department of Colorectal Surgery at Institut de Recerca i Docència Mútua Terrassa.

Diana Gonzalez

Diana Gonzalez holds a PhD in Biomedicine. She worked in different research centres before joining d·HEALTH 2014-2015 and completing her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. She is currently the Technology Transfer & Innovation Manager at Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC).

Mattia Bosio holds a PhD in Telecommunications Engineering and he joined d·HEALTH 2013-2014. He developed his clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and he is currently working as a Senior Researcher at Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC).

Susan Feitoza

Business Development, Innovation and Research in Digital Health at RMIT Europe 

Susan Feitoza studied Political Science and Law and held different management positions in international companies before joining d·HEALTH 2013-2014. She did her clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu and was working on her own project before starting working in innovation and healthcare for different companies. She is currently working as Business Development, Innovation and Research in Digital Health at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) Europe office based in Barcelona.

Trained as a telecommunications engineer, Arnau Valls joined d·HEALTH 2013-2014 and completed his clinical immersion at Hospital Sant Joan de Déu. As a result, he was working on his own project before joining this hospital as an Innovation Engineer.
